I'm not sure how detailed we can get here, but as we're trying to plan logistics, I think it would be good to start thinking about what airlines fly where directly.
TAP Portugal
Lisbon to New York/Newark direct. Anything to Madrid or Barcelona connects thru Lisbon.
Lufthansa
Toronto or NYC to Madrid or Barcelona direct, but not Lisbon.
Iberia
We can fly direct from Chicago to Madrid. We can't fly direct to Lisbon or Barcelona. Anything to those cities seems to connect in a European city, not a US city.
American
We can fly Chicago to Madrid. They do not service Lisbon. Anything to/from Barcelona goes through NYC or Miami.
US Airways
Direct Philly to Lisbon. Madrid to Philly or Charlotte (random). Barcelona to Philly.
Delta
Hubs in NYC for Madrid or Barcelona. Nothing to Lisbon.
United
Looks like you are connecting in Newark for Lisbon, Madrid, or Barcelona.
Any other airlines I should try?
