I hear it's totally beautiful.
The only problem is trying to get there, I guess it's a challenging drive. I'm not sure we could do it in a rental car on our own.
There are buses, but it's like 3 hours from Reykjavik, so the bus doesn't give you much time there, unless you want to stay in a mountain hut in bunk beds. I assume we don't. I could maybe do it for one night, just to stay I did it, but I don't think I'd sleep well.
There are also one day Jeep Tours that allow you to hike a bit, but they are expensive.
There is probably plenty of good hikes near Reykjavik. Can't see all of Iceland in a few days.
