Reykjavík Excursions

Some things we can do in Reykjavik. First, learn to pronounce Reykjavik.

Now, some day trip excursions from Reykjavik.

I would like to do the following:

  1.  Golden Circle Tour - 9100 ISK
  2. Whale Watching - 9000 ISK
  3. The Blue Lagoon - 12500 ISK plus admission to the blue lagoon (6500 ISK)
Total cost of all that is  37100 ISK (each). That converts to $300, which isn't terrible.

We could also rent a car for about $125/day and get to these places on our own. Still have to pay admission to:
  1. Geysir multimedia show. I can't find how much this costs. I feel like we could skip it.
  2. Friðheimar cultivation centre ($10). Seems cool, but I could probably live without it.
  3. Whale watching - $65. Pricey, but seems like a unique Icelandic experience.
My understanding is that The Blue Lagoon is near the airport, which is about an hour away from Reykjavik, so if we rent a car, we could stop at the Blue Lagoon right after we land. Of course, depending on our travel schedule, we may not feel like it after being on a plane(s) all night.
