Today in Tapas

Enough about our tourist adventures, what about the food and booze?

Had what is essentially a monte Cristo for lunch. Grilled ham and cheese, but swap out the butter for more cheese. Seems brilliant, was a little disappointing. Granted, I got it from a stand at the train station, and it was cold by the time I got it, so the circumstances could have been better. I'll have to try again.

After Segovia, we were hungry, so we got a 4 cheese pizza and spinach and pumpkin empanada from a bakery near our apartment. Didn't know what to expect from the pumpkin, but it totally worked.

After the Prado we stated bar hopping. Started at a local bar near the Prado. Nothin fancy, good atmosphere, fun vibe. Gave us fried fish products, mini hamburgers, and potato pie. And we ordered patatas baratas.

We then decided to be tourists and have a beer on Plaza Mayor. First place was fine, beers were overpriced but we expected that. Mediocre paella

Planned to head back to our neighborhood, but it was raining so we went to a second bar. Waiter up sold us on some cheese. We assumed it was not free, but were shocked when we got the bill and it was 14 Euro. It was good, but not that good.
Important phrase: cuanto cuesta? That's what we get for being tourists.

Finished with a beer near the apartment.

Can't believe tomorrow is our last day in madrid.
